YOU AND I

YOU AND I

You and I
We travel as one
We have crossed
A lot of bridges
A few we burned
A few we don’t remember
To the ones left standing
We will return
If only in memory
We have done nothing great
And will leave no legacy
Yet we wouldn’t trade
Shoes with anyone
And along the way
Someone might say
You know they loved each other
We didn’t play by the rules
We have broken some
And wrote some new ones
But for the game of life
We won the grand prize
We won each other
YOU AND I
