TURTLES DON'T FLY

TURTLES DON’T FLY

A turtle knows he can’t fly
So a turtle never tries.
Maybe that’s why you’ll
Never see a turtle cry.

If you were a turtle
You would try to fly
High above the trees
In a summers evening breeze
And they would write
A turtle was seen in flight
On a awful windy night.

But because you gave it a try
You could be the first turtle to cry

Even with a tear in your eye
There will be a little smile on your face.
For in your heart of hearts
You know you did try.

When your heart is broken
It’s O.K. for you to cry
It lets your heart know
All will pass by and by.

So dry the tear from your eye
And let that little smile grow
For in your heart you know
You did more than just try.

  • I really liked this one Grandpa! It spoke directly to me today. I am the turtle. :)

I'm starting to worry that I may be taking on more than I can handle. I'll just take it one day at a time. (Or one flight at a time.) :)
    Love, Liz
